Viking activities during the summer holiday
The shooting range
Try archery with copies of Viking Age bows, try spear throwing with the Vikings’ spears, and try to throw stones at the warrior and see if you can hit the target.

The bread shop
Try rolling and baking your own Viking flatbread by following The Viking Museum’s original bread recipe. Hear about the Vikings’ bread and grains and royal bread pans. If there is time for it, you can help chop firewood for the fire.

The cutting shop
Try your hand with a cutting knife and freshly chopped wood. Hear about what was cut in the Viking Age and how wood was a hugely important material at the time. If you need a little weapon play, there are wooden swords and shields at the cutting shop for battling.
